Dysart Townsite, Highway 22, and Highway 639

Recently, student Dylan C. was kind enough to forward us information regarding one option for shooters out at Dysart, Saskatchewan. Here’s a letter from December 7th, 2017 to existing Dysart Gun Club members:

“Dear Gun Club Member:

This letter is to advise that I have just received the new forms for 2018 and you can now renew your membership for the new shooting season. We have been in operation now for six years on a break even basis with the Range fee at $5.00. Other than postage and stationary, a complementary dinner voucher for the peoperty owners who allow us the use of the site, we have traditionally donated a raffle prize to the Touchwood Hills Wildlife Branch who sponsors us and provides the necessary liability insurance we are required to have. There comes a point when the site will have to be cleaned up and the contaminated soil in the berm will have to be disposed of. The Owners should not have to bear that cost and consequently the Range fee will increase to $10.00 with any surplus going into escrow for purposes of cleaning the site. We currently have $570.00 in savings due to some non-member rentals in 2016.

The THWF membership remains unchanged at $25.00 for individuals, with an additional $5.00 for each affiliate membership (spouse and child under 18 years of age) to a maximum family membership of $35.00 and then add the $10.00 Range fee for each shooter. The total fees for an individual shooter are $35.00.

Please make cheques payable to the Dysart Gun Club.

John Grohs, Treasurer.”
